super Mario started as a 2D platformer as more of the games released the more technology was put into it for example the first Mario was 2D and now the Mario games are 3D and have gravity abilities. On Super Mario 2 world 1-1 there are a lot of pipes that can be entered however some pipes are traps with plants that can damage Mario, going down the pipes lead to a new area with many collectibles and power ups.The enemies in world 1-1 starts of with small enemies like shy guys that will just walk to try and get into your way, other enemies are the tweeters that are little birds that will hop and they can be picked up and thrown, the next enemies you come across are Hoopsters that are ladybird looking enemies that slowly climb vines and the final enemies you see in level 1-1 are the Ninjis that are little black stars that jump these can be picked up and thrown, The first boss you come is at the end of level 1-1 that is a birdo that are birds that throw a eggs at you these can be be sopped by quickly picking up the eggs and throwing them back.The objective of this level is to reach the Mask gate to progress on to the next level.

Knack is a 3D platforming game that starts off with a small bunch of relics and is called a prototype.
The level design in the game starts out nice and simple at first with small obstacles that you need to jump over the more you get in to the gamer the more obstacles there are and the more harder they get to jump over them. The enemies in the game are easy and the more difficult they get for example they are little robots and little goblins with guns and the more you get into the game there are giant robots with guns and goblins with weapons wearing armor.The first mission starts out with knack being a small relic and is a test subject you have to show people the abilities that knack can do by defeating the small robots the more you progress you have to take on more difficult enemies. something happens and you have to take on a doctors minions that the player has to take on and they are covered in armor and have swords and rocket launchers to see how tough knack is.
